Chomley’s Tours has been providing tours through the Dampier Peninsula for over 7 years. Our driver/guides provide an informative interpretation of this special area that offers unspoiled coastline, former mission settlements, Aboriginal communities and isolated outstations.

We have developed reliable relationships with local Aboriginal guides that will take you mud crabbing in unique mangrove habitats, fishing, snorkeling or swimming on remote pristine beaches or sea kayaking down tidal estuaries. These activities are not only fun and interesting but provide a unique opportunity to meet the locals in their own environment and enhance your understanding of the lifestyle of the Peninsula people.

In 2010 the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm - Australia’s oldest operating pearl farm - opened to the public. This has enabled Chomley’s Tours to provide an insight into the pearling industry on our 1 and 2-Day tours and an alternative accommodation experience for those looking for an extended stay on the Dampier Peninsula.

Our tour groups are kept deliberately small (a maximum of 13 people). Not only does this make the tour personal, it saves valuable time, which allows us to see and do more. We also use smaller vehicles that can 4WD along coastal and narrow bush tracks, so we reach the best locations for a genuine remote bush experience.

ROGER CHOMLEY (driver and guide) lives in Broome and has guided the Dampier Peninsula for 8 years after working in Central Australia.

Roger provides a keen insight into the plant habitats, history and geology of the diverse Cape Leveque coastline and provides a thorough and entertaining commentary on all his tours.

VINCENT ANGUS grew up in Lombadina and moved to the outstation Mudnunn in the early 1990s where he established his mud crabbing tours. Mudnunn is his mother's traditional country, while his father grew up on the Sunday Island mission.

Vincent will work hard in finding that mud crab and help you share in the experience of dragging one out of its hiding spot.

SHIRLEY HUNTER is a Bardi woman who'll take us on the tag-along tour from Hunter’s Creek to Swan Point on our 2-Day tour. Shirley lives at One Arm Point but grew up on the Sunday Island mission before it was closed in the early 70s.

Shirley has an intimate knowledge of the Hunter's Creek area as she spent a lot of time there with her late husband Eric Hunter. Hunter’s Creek is named after Eric’s great grandfather, who settled there in the early 1900’s.

ROBERT SIBOSADO (local guide for sea kayaking on extended stays or charters) is a resident of Lombadina and is heavily involved in promoting tourism for his community and the Dampier Peninsula.

The sea kayaking provides a unique way of sharing his knowledge of the sea, which is central to Bardi culture.

Chomley’s Tours has 3 vehicles called Arkana’s (extended and widened Toyota Landcruisers) with forward-facing seats that carry a maximum of 13 passengers for a personalized tour. All our vehicles have a PA commentary system and are air-conditioned.  A custom built trailer provides easy access and plenty of space for all the equipment - including your luggage. All vehicles carry a Sat Phone and first aid kit for emergencies.

Chomley’s Tours pride themselves of providing quality, comfortable camping equipment. Our two-man, mozzie-proof tents are high enough for you to stand upright, and our stretcher beds with comfort-mats are raised from the ground. Fresh linen, pillows and sleeping bags as blankets are all provided.
